Marissa J. McDermottMarissa McDermott graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she was admitted to the Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame, where she got her first courtroom experience working in the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic. She has practiced in a wide range of legal fields, including employment law, business litigation, personal injury, intellectual property, and criminal defense. Marissa enjoys being an adjunct professor at Purdue University Calumet, where she teaches Employment Law and MBA Business Law. She is an active member of the community, where she has been elected a precinct committeewoman, named a human relations commissioner, and has served on various non-profit boards. Much of her volunteer time is spent as an officer of the Home & School Association of St. John Bosco School in Hammond. In her free time, she enjoys running and reading (though not at the same time). Gardening and photography are also some of her favorite pastimes.
